Storytelling Photography: An Airport Reunion
You know the cliche that a picture is worth a 1000 words… Well, I’m exploring a new photography style (new to me any way), in which a series of photos tells a whole story. Not a posed story — which certainly has its place of course — but a story with movement and deeper emotions, that goes beyond a second or two into how life really was in a particular time.
I’m telling stories through photos so families can look back and not only remember how they looked at a certain time, but how they felt and how they interacted.
See a very moving session I did just this week and then read on for a special offer. (Hint, I’m offering free sessions!)
I was invited to capture an event which was very important to a family. The father was returning home after several months away from his young family. I met the wife and their beautiful daughters at the airport and captured the “scene” real time as the girls saw their dad coming into the baggage claim area.
The kids had great anticipation leading up to seeing daddy – and when they finally did, well…they couldn’t get to him fast enough! Dad’s expression says a lot as well – he sure missed his girls!
A very moving experience
Storytelling photography is the art of capturing life as it really is. I am incredibly excited about going in this direction in 2015, and to that end I’m looking to build a portfolio that reflects it.
Would you be interested in a complimentary session?
I am looking for
- 3 families for 1-hour sessions at a location of you choice and
- 2 families for “A Day in the Life” sessions where I spend up to 3 hours documenting a portion of your day in your home.
There is no fee for my time and you will receive 10 images from the session on a CD at no cost with no obligation to buy anything. I may use all or some of the images to share the story of this type of photography.
Want in? Simply fill in the form below and I’ll contact you to let you know. PLEASE NOTE, the information you provide will not be shared with anyone for any reason. It will be used solely by me for the purpose of finding 5 families to work with. 🙂
I’ll contact you by December 15, 2014.
